Ohio Board of Regents : Chancellor Jim Petro Introduces Enterprise University Plan

Ohio Board of Regents Chancellor, Jim Petro, charts a new course for higher education in the state, presenting a plan allowing Ohio’s 14 public universities to be free from mandates which stifle efficiency and innovation. Am. Sub. House Bill 153 specifically tasked the chancellor to research and develop a plan for designating public institutions of higher education as charter, or enterprise universities. Through this research process, ways were identified to free Ohio’s 14 universities from burdensome mandates allowing for more entrepreneurial activity.
