TRAINING VIDEO: Understanding Rule 88 for Judges & Court Personnel

Supreme Court of Ohio

Ohio courts accommodate approximately 80 languages and handle more than 25,000 cases per year that require an interpreter. The Appointment of Interpreters set forth in Superintendence Rule 88 offers a set of guiding principles to tackle the issues of language access, equal protection and due process. The Supreme Court of Ohio produced this video to assist local courts on how to best work with court interpreters under the new rule to ensure the parties’ rights afforded to them under our system of law.
