Masloomi--fiber artist, lecturer, aeronautical engineer, historian and master quilter is a strong advocate for the preservation of quilt making in the African-American community.
The Kids are Alright
The Pik Crew is a bluegrass band composed of five teenagers. For the last three years, the New Carlisle musicians have been raising money to help send Miami Valley veterans to see the World War II memorial in Washington, D.C. In July, the musicians accompanied a flight of 60 veterans to the memorial.
4-H Pet Pals
4-H kids and their dogs are trained to visit senior citizens. Master 4-H volunteer leaders teach youth the skills needed to interact with residents in healthcare facilities, enhancing intergenerational relationships.
