City Club of Cleveland - 5-31-2019 - Breaking Down the Budget

Earlier this month, the Ohio House of Representatives passed House Bill 166, the proposed biennial $69 billion state budget. Significant items in the budget include personal income tax cuts, more money for education, public health programs, and children's services, and raising the age to purchase tobacco products from 18 to 21.

The budget received unusual bipartisan support; despite this, more House Republicans (seven) voted against the GOP-sponsored bill than House Democrats (two).
