Charles Charleston v. State of Ohio
Charles Charleston arrives home at night and sees a stranger approaching him. He feels threatened, draws a gun, and kills the stranger. The police arrive, search Charleston's car, and find incriminating material. Charleston is convicted of second degree murder. In his appeal, he argues he acted in self-defense and that the police violated his Fourth Amendment rights against unreasonable search and seizure.
