The Ballot Board meets for the purpose of carrying out its duties under the Ohio Constitution Article II, Section I (g), including approving ballot language for the statewide issue on the November 6, 2018 General Election ballot.
The Ballot Board also directs the means by which the Secretary of State's office will disseminate information concerning the proposed ballot initiatives to the voters. The members will vote to authorize the Secretary of State to contract for the publication of the ballot language, explanations, and arguments in a newspaper of general circulation in each county in the state as required by the Ohio Constitution.
Secretary Husted serves as the Chairman of the Ohio Ballot Board. Other members include State Senator Bill Beagle, State Senator Vernon Sykes, State Representative Kathleen Clyde and Mr. William Morgan.
