As Ohio's sole public funding source dedicated to child abuse and child neglect prevention, the Ohio Children's Trust Fund (OCTF) is at the forefront of prevention activities throughout the state. Since its creation in 1984, the OCTF has funded primary and secondary prevention strategies conducted at the local level in all 88 Ohio counties, in addition to initiatives and projects of statewide significance, all of which are designed to strengthen families and prevent child abuse and neglect.

The month of April is especially important to the OCTF given that it is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. This April, the Trust Fund continues to raise awareness of the impact that child abuse and neglect have on Ohio's children and to communicate that we all have a role to play in preventing child abuse and neglect. In April 2019, the Trust Fund is prompting a call to action to encourage all adults to "Be a Hero in the Eyes of a Child - one simple act of encouragement at a time."

This year, in addition to our regional activities during April, we also have several statewide contests where we are looking for engagement from all Ohioans. Please visit our April campaign site to learn more about our activities in April.
