The Career Path Less Taken is a conversation starter for parents and educators about the
alternatives to 4-year-college degrees and how career and technical education can be a path to high wage jobs. Not dismissing the value of a 4-year college education, The Career Path Less Taken delves into the variety of paths available in Ohio and around the country that can lead to success in the 21st century job market. This documentary takes an inside look at the opportunities offered by career and technical education. Included are interviews with experts in the fields of education, economics, workforce development, and high-growth industries that are facing labor shortages and who are striving to better align Ohio's education system with the needs of its workforce and economy. The program will connect the dots to reveal a picture of the job market of the future to provide young people and their parents with the information they need to make informed
decisions about options during and after high school. Ultimately, viewers will learn how young people can prepare for career opportunities in high-demand, high-growth, and high-paying fields, demonstrating the value of career and technical education for students, employers and the economy.
