Open weekdays 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; weekends noon to 4 p.m.; closed holidays.
Please note that the Ohio Statehouse will be closed on July 3 and July 4 in observance of Independence Day.

See you at the People's House!

Enjoy the second season of Summer Fridays at the Statehouse, a free lunch-time performing arts series on the Statehouse West Plaza (High Street) each Friday between May 29 and September 4. Summer Fridays at the Statehouse will provide an opportunity for the central Ohio community to gather on Capitol Square to experience some of Columbus' diverse arts groups.

July 10, 2009: TRANSIT ARTS

Rhythms rise from the drums, turntables and dancing feet, as poets, musicians, hip-hop emcees, breakdancers, DJs, singers and visual artists (painting on-stage) flow together to create a breathtaking, and interactive, multi-disciplinary performance experience. The TRANSIT ARTS Performance Group is a dynamic blend of outstanding professional artists and talented youth artists inspiring and challenging one another to honor our roots while creating fresh new work. TRANSIT ARTS, based at Central Community House provides outstanding arts programs, performances, exhibitions, and entrepreneurial opportunities for youth, while celebrating the vitality of our urban environment.

Performances will be cancelled in the event of inclement weather.
