"Recentris, Inc. is Organizing Bioinformatics"
Grant :
Biomedical Informatics Synthesis Platform
The BRTT Project on Bioinformatics created a sustainable enterprise that is integrating the research capabilities at Ohio State and the Ohio Supercomputer Center with the development capabilities of Recentris, Inc. a Ohio-based commercial partner. Researchers, particularly those in the biosciences, have been stymied by the volumes of data and information generated in the field and the challenge to integrate this information to solve real health problems. The State provided a grant of $6 million that the recipients and their commercial partners matched with $6 million to develop, build and sell an advanced scientific laboratory notebook software program to conduct research and develop clinical protocols for human use. The software is know as the Collaborative Electronic Research Framework (CERF)
Recentris is closing a fourth $300,000 deal in direct CERF sales to life sciences customers. A number of new biomedical research organizations have purchased the Rescentris CERF software system, including new customers in Europe, Australia, and the US (academic, government, and biotechnology companies).
Rescentris was also successful in attracting private equity investment from West Coast to fund its Columbus, Ohio business operations and growth. Rescentris has partnered with and received investment from the inventors of Flow Cytometry, award-winning scientists from Stanford University.
