ideastream, a Cleveland-based multiple media organization and home to Ohio’s largest PBS, NPR, and classical radio stations, seeks an energetic and responsible individual to join The Ohio Channel team in Columbus to serve as a part-time Media Assistant to assist with the production and archiving of public affairs content.
Reporting to the Deputy Director, the Media Assistant will have an active role in live and taped public affairs proceedings at the Ohio Statehouse. The Media Assistant will operate robotic cameras during committee hearings and similar events, monitor audio and live streams during events, create on-air graphics, and assist with post-production tasks. The Media Assistant will be scheduled to work approximately 8-16 hours per week.
Qualified candidates will have a combination of experience working with audio and visual equipment, strong verbal and written communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills and will be able to juggle a variety of concurrent tasks under tight time constraints. A High School Diploma or its equivalent is required, though an equivalent of years of experience in related fields and education will be considered. This is an ideal position for someone who loves video production and is looking for a part-time job.
