With over 70 state parks to choose from, Ohio is a paradise of natural wonders. In this series, the Ohio Channel provides viewers a chance to virtually tour some of Ohio's majestic State Parks. State Parks in Ohio host millions of visitors each year. According to a study conducted by The Ohio State University, over 42% of Ohio residents visit the parks. Visitors contribute approximately $1.1 billion in overall economic impact statewide. Through land acquisition and transfer, the park system has grown from the original 30 parks to 74 state parks in 59 counties with over 174,000 acres of land and water resources.
