Gov. John Kasich signs Amended Substitute House Bill No. 416, legislation that provides additional calamity day relief for schools.
Gov. Kasich is joined by fifth-grade students and officials of Stingel Elementary School from Ontario Local School District in Richland County.
The bill, sponsored by Rep. Burkley and Rep. Hill, adds four calamity days for school districts. It also authorizes schools to make up additional calamity days by lengthening one or more other school days in half-hour increments.
