Description
A couple of weeks ago, students from grades three to 12 began state standardized testing, known as the PARCC. While these tests are meant to see if students are meeting the Common Core standards, not everyone agrees. We will talk about why some parents are opting their child out of these tests, and what are the potential consequences districts may face in light of this decision.

Guests:

Machelle Kline, executive director of accountability at Columbus City Schools

Audra Phillips, parent of student at Indianola Informal School

Michael Petrilli, president of the Thomas B. Fordham Institute
