Social media site Tumblr announced porn is banned on the website, starting December 17.
The announcement triggered a wave of criticism from users and questions about the automated software that will flag potential violations.
The AI uses machine learned to detect adult content that includes, according to a blog post from Tumblr, "photos, videos, or GIFs that show real-life human genitals or female-presenting nipples, and any content-including photos, videos, GIFs and illustrations-that depicts sex acts."
However, this software is flagging photos and posts that don't feature adult content.
Coming up on Tech Tuesday, Tumblr's porn ban, mental health and social media use, and more.
