All Sides with Ann Fisher

Description
Fears and uncertainty brought on by the coronavirus pandemic have many people saying things like "You've got this!" and "This too shall pass."

Such rose-tinted expressions that focus solely on the positive and ignore the recipient's pain are what mental health experts call dismissive, or toxic, positivity.

Today on Wellness Wednesday on All Sides with Ann Fisher: toxic positivity and why it's OK to not be OK.

Guests:

Alex Hutchinson, science and fitness journalist with Outside magazine
Jenny Maenpaa, New York City-based clinical therapist, author, and host of the Feminist AF podcast
Heather Monroe, clinical social worker and director of program development, Newport Institute
Dr. Joshua J. Joseph, assistant professor of Medicine in the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism, Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center
