Description
Colin Kaepernick chose to sit down during the national anthem to protest the treatment of black citizens in country. The protest ignited backlash and support throughout the nation. The flag, national anthem and other American symbols mean different thing to different Americans. For some, these symbols mean a great deal, which results in emotional responses when they feel the symbols are being disrespected.
