Description
The Ohio Ballot Board, chaired by Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner met Friday, April 9, 2010, in the North Hearing Room of the Ohio Statehouse to consider a proposed amendment that would preserve the freedom of Ohioans to choose their health care and health-care coverage.

The Ohio Attorney General's office has determined that the summary of an initiative petition to add Section 21 to Article I of the Ohio Constitution contains a "fair and truthful statement" of the proposed constitutional amendment. The Attorney General forwarded the petition to the Ohio Ballot Board. In this instance, the duty of the Ballot Board is to determine whether the initiative petition contains only one proposed constitutional amendment.

If the Ballot Board determines that the initiative petition contains only one proposed constitutional amendment, then the Ballot Board so certifies and returns the petition to the Attorney General.
