Categories include:

SEW FOR OTHERS, a project designed for youth to not only experience the process of constructing a garment for another person, but also to learn about the clothing problems and preferences of others.

FUN WITH CLOTHES, a beginning level project in which youth decorate a ready-made garment.

IT'S TIME FOR CLOTHING, a series of three selection-oriented projects at the Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced levels wherein youth can broaden their knowledge of textiles and clothing and enhance their consumer skills.

CREATIVE COSTUMES, an intermediate to advanced-level project in which youth research and construct a costume in one of four categories: Historic, Ethnic, Theatrical or Special Interest.

ACCESSORIES FOR TEENS, for which teens are to construct at least one accessory.

CLOTHING FOR YOUR CAREER, in which participants are to construct an outfit for a specific job or interview situation.

READY, LET'S SEW, a beginner-level project in which youths complete at least one accessory item and a beginning-level garment.

FRUGAL FASHIONS, a project where the object is to put together a total look/outfit as inexpensively as possible.
