Do we live in a society where the GED is still necessary? This show will look at the case for and against the GED. Historically it was designed for GIs to apply to college after they had to leave high school due to the WWII draft. Some opponents say the test often encourages dropping out. Others say we need a path for those who just can't finish high school.

Guests include Nobel Laureate and longtime GED researcher, James Heckman, as well as local guests who work with dropout prevention and GED preparation.
