Description
Ohio is about to get more strict about what students need to learn in school as it joins most other states in raising the bar on English and math for all students using a common core of expectations. That means tougher state proficiency tests. Districts are not only preparing for more rigorous instruction, but bracing for lower proficiency scores. Will education in Ohio improve?

Ida Lieszkovszky, Reporter, State Impact Ohio

Emmy Partin, Director of Ohio Policy & Research, Thomas Fordham Institute

Mark Baumgartner, Director of Professional Issues, Cleveland Teachers Union

Sasheen Phillips, Senior Executive Director, Office of Curriculum and Assessment, Ohio Department of Education
