We're on the verge of Memorial Day weekend, the unofficial start of summer and a holiday often associated with picnics and cookouts. But Memorial Day has a much more profound purpose: It's a day to reflect, to mourn and to memorialize those brave men an women of the military who gave their lives defending America's Democratic ideals.
