The Ohio Supreme Court has agreed with Gov. John Kasich in a battle over releasing his public schedule. The hearings on the repeal of the Common Core education standards continued this week, with those who oppose the repeal turning out. There are less than 70 days till election day, and registered voters with up-to-date addresses will soon start seeing absentee ballot applications in their mailboxes. And there won't be any write-in candidates for statewide office on the ballot.

Labor Day has traditionally been the start of the fall election season. But the campaigns that voters will decide on the November ballot have been going for a long while. The Democratic candidate for governor has had some well-documented troubles. Jo Ingles from Ohio Public Radio and Television asked Ohio Democratic Party chair Chris Redfern about the party's vetting process and Ed FitzGerald.
