Description
Don't worry, be happy. But how, exactly, do you not worry? Stress abounds and, as we discussed here a while back, incivil discourse isn't helping matters. Has the "pursuit of happiness" hit a roadblock? This morning, we'll discuss strategies to zip around, or plow right through, the trouble spots. Social connections and empathy may be the perfect navigators. A local university professor who teaches a course on the science of happiness shares insights. Later, Ohio was near the bottom of the list when highway safety advocates rated state driving laws. Among other suggestions: Seatbelts should be required in the back seat, and teens should wait longer to get a license. We'll talk about that, too.

Guests:

Anthony Jack, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Philosophy, Research Director, Inamori International Center for Ethics and Excellence, Principal Investigator, Brain, Mind & Consciousness Laboratory, Case Western Reserve University

Jeffrey Janata, Ph.D., Division Chief, Psychology, UH Cleveland Medical Center

Tara Gill, Director of State Programs, Advocates for Highway and Auto Safety

Karen Kasler, Statehouse News Bureau Chief, Ohio Public Radio/TV
