Description
Early data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shows that fatal overdoses declined in 2018 for the first time since the opioid epidemic began. But people are still dying in huge numbers from overdoses. The Ohio Attorney General is looking to get to the source of the epidemic, before someone becomes addicted, by launching a scientific study to determine a person's risk of addiction. Attorney General Dave Yost joins me in studio this hour and we'll ask about his office's opioid efforts. Later, we'll look at the trend of incorporating clinical ethicists more frequently into healthcare decision making. Finally, author Stephanie Land discusses her memoir "Maid: Hard Work, Low Pay and a Mother's Will to Survive."

Guests:
Dave Yost, Attorney General, State of Ohio

Margot Eves, Director of Clinical Ethics Immersion Program, Cleveland Clinic

Jane Jankowski, Clinical Ethicist, Cleveland Clinic

Jason Gatliff, Integrated Ethics Program Officer, Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical
