Description
There are 19 days left until the Nov. 8 general election, and for many who plan to vote early in person or absentee, it's time to get to know what's on the ballot this year, as early voting began last week.

It's a big election for Ohio voters, with several statewide races on the ballot, including Governor, and U.S. Senator, and several major races and issues on local ballots. In Cuyahoga County, there's the race for county executive, and in the city of Akron, there's a charter amendment to establish a citizens' police oversight board.

Last week, on the "Sound of Ideas" we addressed some listener questions about the logistical process of voting. This week, we'll spend some time digging into the individuals races and issues that Northeast Ohioans will see on ballots across the region.

Here to help us break down what's on this year's ballot is a team of reporters and producers at Ideastream Public Media involved in our election coverage.

Later, Ideastream Producer Drew Maziasz talks to The New Yorker satirical columnist and Shaker Heights Native Andy Borowitz about his new book, "Profiles in Ignorance: How America's Politicians Got Dumb and Dumber."

Guests:
-Anna Huntsman, Akron/Canton Reporter, Ideastream Public Media
-Conor Morris, Education Reporter, Ideastream Public Media
-Glenn Forbes, Supervising Producer, Newscasts, Ideastream Public Media
-Drew Maziasz, Producer, Ideastream Public Media
-Andy Borowitz, Columnist & Author, "Profiles in Ignorance: How America's Politicians Got Dumb and Dumber"
