Description
The wait is over. The drought is over. Cleveland sports fans can put 52 years of disappointment behind them. After a NBA Finals Game 7 victory, the Cleveland Cavaliers are the 2016 NBA Champions.

The Cavaliers were the brightest spot of Cleveland sports in 2010. With a league-high 61 wins and 2010 NBA MVP LeBron James leading the way, the team showed promise. But a situation fans didn't seemed prepared for came days after the season's end. James became a free agent and signed with a different team.

James continue his MVP ways and won multiple championships. The Cavs followed up with losing seasons and the playoffs appeared lightyears away.

Things changed in the summer of 2014. James is once again a free agent and this time he made a decision that won the hearts of Northeast Ohioans. The "Kid from Akron" was "Coming Home."

James was determined to fulfill his promise of bringing a championship to Cleveland. In his second season since returning to the Cavs, James fulfilled his promise in historic fashion.

After dominating the field in the 2016 NBA Playoffs, the Cavs were pushed around in the NBA Finals. The reigning NBA Champion who defeated the Cavs in the Finals the year before lead the Cavs 3-1 in the seven games series. No team in NBA history had won a championship after going down 3-1 in the Finals.

Until now.

112-97. 115-101. 93-89.

Three straight victories against the team who broke the regular season record for most wins and fewest losses.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are the 2016 NBA Champions.
