The Sound of Ideas

Description
In March 1997, more than two decades ago, the Ohio Supreme Court ruled that the way this state funds education is unconstitutional because, it "fails to provide for a thorough and efficient system of common schools." Legislators still haven't agreed on a fix. In a two-part series on The Sound of Ideas, we'll examine school funding and the legacy of DeRolph vs State, the lawsuit that prompted the Supreme Court ruling. Then, civil rights photojournalist Matt Herron discusses the exhibit he curated at the Maltz Museum called, "This Light of Ours." Join us.

Guests:
-Lee Fisher, Former Attorney General & Current Dean of Cleveland Marshall College of Law, Cleveland State University
-Scott Stephens, Former Education Reporter, The Plain Dealer & Current Executive Director of Public Relations, Shaker Heights School District
-Bill Phillis, Executive Director, Ohio Coalition for Equity and Adequacy in School Funding
-Mike Dawson, Former Press Secretary & Current Public Policy Consultant
-Matt Herron, Photojournalist & Curator, "This Light of Ours" Exhibit at the Maltz Museum
