Description
General Motors has announced plans to significantly cut its salaried workforce and has targeted five North American plants for closure. Those factory closures will mean the loss of 15,000 jobs. Among those plants, the Lordstown Assembly Plant in Northeast Ohio. GM also says the product made in Lordstown, the Cruze, will be among the car models phased out of production for the U.S by the end of next year.

We'll discuss what the GM cuts mean not just locally for workers, but for the auto industry as a whole.

Then, Governor John Kasich says he is seriously considering a White House run in 2020. Our statehouse bureau chief sits down with Kasich as he reflects on his two terms as Ohio's governor.

Guests:
-Michael Wayland, GM Reporter, Automotive News
-Edward "Ned" Hill, Ph.D., Professor, Public Administration, City & Regional Planning, John -Glenn College of Public Affairs, The Ohio State University
-Karen Kasler, Bureau Chief, OPR Statehouse News Bureau
