Description
The State School Board has backed a proposal that would create new pathways to a diploma for the Class of 2018. The proposal comes as superintendents around the state worried that new requirements based largely on end of course tests would leave 30% or more of next year's seniors without a diploma. Now lawmakers will consider the fix. Is is the right move for Ohio's students in the long run? Plus, a new bill proposes to give credits to Ohio's nuclear power plants for creating zero emissions. The measure supported by FirstEnergy could impact your electric bill. Plus, we'll talk to the departing executive director of the Northeast Ohio Coalition for the Homeless.

Guests:
-Pat Bruns, Ohio Board of Education Member, District 4
-Chad Aldis, VP for Ohio Policy and Advocacy, Thomas B. Fordham Institute
-Jonathan Kuehnle, Principal, Shake Heights High School
-Sen. Peggy Lehner, (R) District-6, Chair, Ohio Senate Education Committee
-John Funk, Business Reporter, The Plain Dealer
-Brian Davis, Executive Director, Northeast Ohio Coalition for the Homeless
