A painting by Columbus artist, P. Tepper, entitled General Davis and His Redtails, was rededicated and reinstalled in a public ceremony honoring the Tuskegee Airmen and their contributions during World War II on February 9, 2009.
Governor Ted Strickland and Capitol Square Review and Advisory Board Executive Director participated in the rededication. More than 20 Tuskegee Airmen WWII veterans attended the ceremony.
The reinstallation honored General Davis and every Tuskegee Airman who honored America with their patriotism and courage during World War II. After the rededication ceremony, the General Davis portrait was permanently placed on public view outside the George Washington Williams Room for Statehouse visitors to see and enjoy.
