The marriage license of Walter G. Waitt and Maude Comstock, dated June 25, 1903. The certificate was issued in Melrose, Massachusetts.
Maude often remarked that her husband and daughter (Doris) were very supportive of her legislative career. She once told a group of supporters that her name should really be Maude "Citizenship" Waitt, in reference to her vigorous promotion of the classes she developed to aid women to vote intelligently at the polls and to develop clear, unbiased points of view on civic issues. Her daughter later directed these classes.
