This episode of Writers Talk features a discussion with the new voices in the Ohio literary landscape. These emerging authors of fiction, poetry, and creative non-fiction have been published, and all three are Ohio connected.
Fiction - Carla Buckley's debut novel, "The Things that Keep Us Here," features Columbus as the geographical backdrop in one family's struggle as a lethal pandemic sweeps across the world.
Poetry - Sarah Gridley, an assistant professor of English at Case Western Reserve University, is the author of two books of poetry: "Weather Eye Open" and "Green is the Orator."
Non-Fiction - Paula McLain's memoir, "Like Family: Growing Up in Other People's Houses," is a searing portrait of three young sisters who are abandoned by their parents and raised in foster homes. She teaches at John Carroll University.
