Tariq Tarey and Doug Rutledge are social advocates and producers of the Somali Documentary Project, whose mission is to document the worldwide Somali Diaspora. Through their project, they aim to draw attention to the plight of Somalian people who are being forced to leave their homeland.

Tarey was born in Mogadishu, Somalia, and has served as project manager and videographer of the Somali Documentary Project. Rutledge has co-authored "The Somali Diaspora: A Journey Away" as well as the script for the documentary project.
