Our Ohio: The Treasurer of State

This episode of "Our Ohio: Profiles in Government" features the office of the state treasurer. Throughout most of its history, the basic functions of the Office of the Treasurer have remained essentially the same. Our state treasurer was and is responsible for collecting and safeguarding most state taxes and fees, and for managing Ohio's investment portfolio. Treasurer Richard Cordray was elected in 2006 and manages all banking functions for the State of Ohio and an investment portfolio averaging $18 billion.
