All Sides Weekend commemorates Juneteenth, which is often called America's second Independence Day.

Juneteenth is celebrated on June 19 to honor the emancipation of U.S. slaves. The holiday was first recognized in Texas, where on June 19, 1865, following the Civil War, slaves were declared free under the Emancipation Proclamation.

Also joining us is Stephen Spottswood, a violinist and violist and the founder of the Columbus Cultural Orchestra.
