Ohio was the first free state formed from the Northwest Territory.

Since then, major African-American figures have called the Buckeye State home, from Olympic athlete Jesse Owens to Pulitzer Prize-winning novelist Toni Morrison.

We'll look at Ohio's Black history and the role it has played in shaping the nation.
