All Sides with Ann Fisher - 3-29-2023 A - Three Ohio bills aimed at limiting rights of the transgender community

Play

State lawmakers are working on three bills aimed at limiting the rights of members of the transgender community in Ohio.

One bill would ban gender-affirming care for minors.

Another is touted as a parents' bill of rights, requiring schools to inform parents about their students' health, well being and instructional materials with sexually explicit content.

Hearings continue Wednesday on a third measure that would limit the participation of transgender girls in high school and college sports.

The Ohio bills are part of a larger national landscape in which Republican state lawmakers have introduced more anti-trans bills in 2023 alone than in the previous five years.

We'll talk about the trend and how Ohio fits into it.
