Radon is a naturally occurring, colorless, odorless, radioactive gas.
It's everywhere, in every state and its indoors and outdoors. Minors are particularly vulnerable.
Radon is also present in one out of every 15 American homes and it's the second leading cause of lung cancer.
Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown announced last week that the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) had awarded a more than $500,000 grant to Clark County for radon testing and mitigation of radon.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency this month proposed the first national standards to make drinking water safer from so-called "forever chemicals," named for how long they linger in the environment and the human body.
Also known as PFAS, short for "Per- and Polyfluorinated Substances," they are a class of thousands of man-made chemicals that have been around since the 1940s, and are found in everything from cosmetics to outdoor gear, non-stick pans, food wrappers and countless others, including drinking water.
Spring is here, which means it's time to get outside, where exercising may just be the cure for the winter blues.
