Paul Tipps and Neil S. Clark, State Street Consultants
Moderated by:
Dr. Herb Asher
Professor Emeritus, Political Science, The Ohio State University

Recognized as powerhouses on both sides of the political aisle, Neil Clark and Paul Tipps founded State Street Consultants in 1986, which is widely recognized as one of Ohio's largest and most successful bipartisan lobbying firms. Over the years, Tipps and Clark have played a defining role in many aspects of public policy, frequently being sought for advice and counsel by Ohio's elected and appointed officials.

On May 3, the primary will be behind us, but the state's citizens will face even tougher decisions on this fall's ballot. Ohio lags behind the nation on countless aspects of its economy and the overall well being of its people. Who will be capable of leading the Buckeye State back to prosperity? Clark and Tipps will share insights for the coming months.

Neil Clark formerly served as chief operating officer of the Ohio Senate Republican Caucus where he assisted in planning, developing, and implementing the spending priorities for Ohio's biennial budget. He also served as a senior financial analyst for the caucus, as well as program analyst for the Ohio Legislative Budget Office.

Paul Tipps is a former Montgomery County and Ohio Democratic Party chairman. He is a member of the Democratic National Committee, and has well-established relationships with political and government officials throughout the nation.
During his eight-year term (1975-1983) as Ohio Democratic Party Chairman, 21 democrats were elected to statewide and judicial offices. Since 1990 only four democrats have been elected. Tipps retired from State Street Consultants in 2005.
