Columbus Metropolitan Club - The State Budget We Got

Thomas Suddes talks with Ohio Budget Director Tim Keen and Tax Commissioner Joe Testa.

The $62 billion biannual budget Governor Kasich signed into law in June contains rules, regulations and clarifications as well as taxes and appropriations. Majority Republicans and Gov. John Kasich have touted income tax cuts and increases in school funding while Democrats have insisted the budget should spend more on schools and local governments. New regulations related to abortion has garnered national attention at the same time Medicaid expansion was not included. Among the less noticed details include a tax on Jell-o shots and dog registrations that include 3 year renewal options. Over 5000 pages long what are the ramifications, and the high and low points of the state budget we got?
