We in America who are neither Jewish nor Muslim and without ties to the Middle East tend to view the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in black and white terms. but reality is much more complex. Jeff Harper, a retired anthropology professor, is the author of a new book, War Against the People: Israel, the Palestinians, and Global Pacification. Dr. Harper is a Jewish native of Minneapolis who has lived in Israel since 1973 and holds dual citizenship in both Israel and the U.S. but for many years he has been a harsh critic of Israeli policy towards the Palestinians, and considers his adopted country to be guilty of apartheid and worse. Rather than a two-state solution, he thinks the best case scenario is one state where both communities manage to live in peace. But how do we get there?
