Deadline Now - 8-26-2016 - Decoding Political Ads

One prediction you can safely make about this year's presidential race: hundreds of million of dollars will be spent on TV advertising. These days, for many voters and maybe some journalists, the TV ads are the campaign. But how really effective are they? The Toledo Museum of Art currently has a fascinating special exhibit, "I Approve This Message: Decoding Political Ads." It looks at the history of the genre since the first primitive ads aired in 1952. What can we learn from this? How Successful are they in manipulating our subconscious minds?

Joining us to talk about all this:

Adam Levine, Assistant Director of the Museum and a Co-Curator of the current exhibit
Dr. Brian Patrick, Professor of Communication at the University of Toledo
