This is your Legislative Update for the week of February 16th.
In the Ohio Senate, Substitute Senate Bill 1 passed. Sponsored by Senators Gardner and Peterson, this bill prohibits the application of fertilizer and manure in the western basin of Lake Erie on frozen ground, saturated soil, and during certain weather conditions.
In the Ohio House of Representatives, House Bill 14 passed this week. Sponsored by Representatives Gerberry and Buchy, this bill prohibits the sale of powdered or crystalline alcohol for human consumption. House Bill 22 was also passed. Sponsored by Representatives Anielski and Dovilla, this bill designates both the eastbound and westbound bridges that will span the Cuyahoga River in Cuyahoga County as the George V. Voinovich Bridge. Sponsored by Representative Terry Johnson, Amended House Bill 29 also passed. This bill designates the month of November as Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency Awareness Month.
