In 2007, flooding from the Blanchard River had disastrous effects on communities in both Findlay and Ottawa. After the 2007 flooding, the Army Corps of Engineers conducted a study on the river and made recommendations on how to proceed to prevent another flood.
Host Michael Carroll, Ph.D., Director of the Center for Regional Development and an associate professor of economics at Bowling Green State University, leads a discussion on the Army Corps of Engineers recommendations and their implications, and what should be done.
Guests include Tony Iriti, former Findlay mayor and chief executive officer of the Northwest Ohio Flood Mitigation Partnership, and Jeff Loehrke, community development director of Ottawa.
