Attorney General Mike DeWine and the Ohio Peace Officers Training Academy honored fallen officers during the 25th annual state memorial service.

Six officers, who died while serving in 2011, were honored this year:
- Deputy Suzanne M. Hopper, Clark County Sheriff's Office
- Officer Thomas R. Hayes, Columbus Division of Police
- Officer Jonathan V. Bastock, Stow Police Department
- Captain Daniel P. Stiles, Uniontown Police Department
- Officer Andrew S. Dunn, Sandusky Police Department
- Sgt. Brian S. Dulle, Warren County Sheriff's Office

Six historical inductions were also added this year, after their departments discovered through research that they had made the ultimate sacrifice for their communities many years ago:

Thomas Roach, Jr., Newark Police Department - 1886
Spooner C. Crapo, Rochester Village Police Department - 1905
Charles W. Lind, Cincinnati Police Division - 1908
David H. Barnes, New York Central RR Police Department - 1920
Robert D. Leigh, Cincinnati Police Division - 1940
