Homegrown by Heroes

Shane Wood was a rambunctious kid. Growing up, he spent a lot of time on his grandfather's Hardin County farm. After high school, Shane chose to make a career in the military. But an IED in Iraq changed everything.

The Columbus Produce Terminal

Our Ohio follows sweet corn as it's picked on the Michael Farm in Urbana and then is quickly delivered to the bustling Columbus Produce Terminal. At the terminal, produce from Ohio farms is loaded onto waiting trucks to be delivered to local groceries and markets.

Black Creek Bistro

Father and son owners of Columbus' Black Creek Bistro are farmers. The vast majority of their supplies are grown on their farm in Canal Winchester. And like good farmers, they waste nothing--their food scraps are composted, they use their cardboard boxes to suppress weed growth and they have two trucks running on used vegetable oil.
