The August 8 special election will decide only one issue - but it's an important one. Issue 1 wants to change the voting process for constitutional amendments that's been in place for more than 100 years.
A yes vote on Issue 1 would impose stricter requirements for passage - instead of a simple majority, a supermajority of 60%.
A no vote on Issue 1 keeps the status quo - enabling issues to pass by a simple majority - 50% plus 1.
Supporters say stricter requirements are needed to protect the Ohio constitution from special interests. Opponents say it's already a heavy lift to change the state's constitution.
Backers for and against Issue 1 are pouring millions of dollars into the effort because a lot is riding on the outcome - the future of abortion and reproductive rights, recreational marijuana and redistricting.
We talk to supporters of both sides of Issue 1 ahead of the special election.
