The National Voter Registration Act (NVRA), also known as the Motor Voter Act, became law 20 years ago. Congress passed the law with the objectives of increasing the number of citizens registered to vote, protecting electoral integrity by ensuring the maintenance of accurate and current voter rolls, and encouraging the participation of eligible voters in the electoral process. Unfortunately, Ohio's implementation of NVRA leaves the promises of the law unfulfilled.
This convening seeks to bring together election experts, both from around the county and within Ohio, to discuss the major roadblocks on Ohio's path to NVRA compliance. The discussion will include both where Ohio stands and proposals for how to overcome the roadblocks and get Ohio on the path to true compliance.
