Artzine - The Ancient Past & the Exciting Present

In October, ArtZine we explore the ancient past and the exciting developments of the present:

Follow the cast and crew as Shakespeare in the Park celebrates its 25th Anniversary. A focal point for the German Village community, Shakespeare in the Park is a summer treat in Schiller Park and we celebrate all the surprises that come with live, outdoor theater in Columbus.

We talk with painter Kehinde Wiley about his new exhibition at the Columbus Museum of Art. Wiley takes contemporary African American models, discovered on the streets of Columbus, and poses them to replicate an Old Master work in the Museum's collection. This fascinating work gives new meaning to codes of gesture and dress, past and present while provoking a reconsideration of stereotypes.

BalletMet has a new performance space and we follow the progress of their building and their first performance within that space - a collaboration with the Silesian Dance Theater of Poland.

The Ohio Historical Society has created a new space of their own for their large collection of archaeological artifacts. We talk to the experts about the art and function of the ancient world.

And, to celebrate the Indian Festival, we follow dancers who pay homage to the river Ganga the holiest river on earth and sometimes called, The River of Knowledge.
